Cale Green Women’s  (CGWI)

Cale Green WI started with one idea back in 2015. Sam, the now co-president, was looking for a local WI and she decided to create her own after not being able to find one that offered what she was looking for. After talking to friends, Helen and Nikki, they all decided to find out how to set a new one up.

In January 2016 we had our first official meeting and Cale Green Women's Institute was formed. 48 members joined on the first night - we were so proud.

National Federation Women's Institute (NFWI)

The Women's Institute was formed in 1915 to revitalise rural communities and encourage women to become more involved in producing food during the First World War. Since then, the organisation's aims have broadened and the WI is now the largest voluntary women's organisation in the UK. The WI celebrated it's centenary in 2015 and currently has almost 220,000 members in approximately 6,300 WIs.

The WI plays a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills, participate in a wide variety of activities, and campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities.
